The depth of repetition.
I try to start on the mat everyday, practicing the same postures over and over. When the form is always the same, when you know every move you're doing, you can start paying attention to what's different inside. I find that the same thoughts that try to get in the way of my concentration creep up on me during my violin practice as well, and end up insidiously running the show because they are silent and sneaky. And when I'm on the mat, I hear them loud and clear. « You don't have time. » That's one of the most resilient of the untrue beliefs I have. I do have time. I can take the time. I can make the time for the things that matter. I can shape my time. We all can.
